Fibromyalgia: What Does Fibromyalgia Mean?
#1) I’ve been told I have Fibromyalgia. What does that mean?
It may mean that you legitimately have all the technical specifications for being classed as someone who has the illness, or it may mean that your doctor is unsure of exactly what you have and “fibromyalgia” is the closest diagnosis he can make at this time.
*For a long time doctors lumped many health problems and autoimmune diseases into this one term. FMS or Fibromyalgia. It wasn’t called the garbage bag diagnosis for nothing!
If you have any doubts that you have FMS:
a) Consult additional medical practitioners, e.g. rheumatologists, internal medical specialists or other doctors who specialize in Fibromyalgia, but first, check out the criteria mentioned in b).
b) See this new definition of Fibromyalgia and diagnostic criteria published in 2010, which indicates that the tender point exam has been tossed out the window. It has been replaced with a symptom checklist.
c) Check out alternative ways and methodologies to stop suffering and begin getting well, such as the Sacred Cellular Healing protocol.
